You hear many people say "BRO! Spring is when you catch hogs!" Well that got me thinking and looking at my own data, looking at my fishing log my single biggest Bass in the past 5 years was in August, however the highest average weight was February.
So I went to TPW and looked at the Share Lunker data and found that in fact the highest average weight is February.
February 11.29133663
March 11.03456743
January 10.86692946
December 10.69816327
November 10.50813333
April 10.35563342
October 9.85027027
August 9.629428571
September 9.564805195
July 9.556421053
May 9.412795031
June 9.352929936

So then I looked at what lake had the highest weight per month on average.
February on Fork was the highest at 12.96lbs
In conclusion if you want the theoretical best chance for a big bass fish Fork in February! popcorn

Except that the overwhelming majority of those Fork entries were from a long time ago.

So from 1997-2009 there were 78 recorded, 2010- to date 302. However there is a lot more people on the water in the past 4-5 years then the pervious years. I think if you were to look at it per capita of anglers I would think there is not a lot of change.
A good example of that is O.H.Ivie in 2020 they had only 6 recorded in 2021 50 and 2022 121...

What scale are you using to weigh your fish?
