Gran Centenario is the smoothest sipping tequila I’ve ever had. I’m not an expert though. Several of the brands around $30 a bottle are good for mixing. Stay away from the cheap rot gut stuff and you’ll be fine.

I have done a few Tequila tasting in Cancun, and some are good and some taste just like paint thinner to me

I sipped a little Tierra-Noble Anejo last night. It was pretty smooth and tasty. Had a bourbonesque flavor.
