Ok, so I'm still old school at times. Not necessarily part of the New Balance crowd...haha, but I still like to have a hard map to layout and write on periodically. Anyone have the Lake Fork Martins "super map"? Better or worse than the Fishing Hot Spots map?

I still have tons of maps from as far back as the 90's. Still have some pretty neat notes on there from when I kept fishing logs etc. A former tournament partner got me to putting just simple dots on my maps whenever we caught what he considered good quality tournament fish keepers mainly in the 4 lb range or bigger. Thats all he cared about was knowing where we caught those type of fish throughout the years and some pretty consistent areas started showing up on some lakes. I still look at them all of the time although there have been some major changes on a lot of lakes the last 10 years or so.

the Lake Fork Martin's Map is good but it is laminated so difficult to write on. I use a fine point acrylic paint marker made by Shuttle Art for marking on glass/ceramic. Gotta let it dry a second so it won't smear.

Gotta let it dry a second so it won't smear. If you get the Martins map CD if it is still available you can print pages of the entire lake and put them in a binder. That is what I did many years ago.

I still have a paper map of it somewhere. I used to have one of the Hot Spot maps, that was about the best thing there was before GPS and current fish finder technology. It blew out of my boat one day while I was headed up the lake around Mustang and that was the end of it. I really didn't get to use modern GPS mapping until last year but it quickly taught me a lot about navigation. With Fork and some of the surrounding lakes being down over the summer last year I learned real quick to monitor the mapping feature to keep from running aground. Did that a couple of times.
