Lake o the Pines has a good population of Bald eagles around Copeland Creek and Johnson creek. They hang out around the main lake points of these creeks. Others are Blue herons King fishers Loons Pelicans Gulls Egrets Hawks Mallards Wood ducks

For picture taking.. I'd go to Fork this time of year... might see some alligators too.. Hideaway Harbor ramp, hang a left and head up Little Caney. Fishing might be great too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBGGwsZ2OX8 ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/04/full-76913-178419-ck1bgzp.jpg)

I would head to Caddo. Good fishing, aquatic uniqueness, and lots of birds.

Close to here, the Caddo National Grassland lakes are good for bird watching. In that area, there are multiple well established bird sanctuary lakes.

I think they all are great. Water is life, so lakes are loaded.
Got buzzed by Osprey at Lewisville, and really love the teal and wood ducks at Roberts. Eagles nests just south of Jordan park.
Good pics of the Great Blue Heron. Awesome birds.

Certainly not local, but Sugar Lake in Mexico is one of the best I've seen. That place is loaded with all types of unusual birds that you don't see around here.
