The carp have been very active the last week. I caught 6 on a fly today to 30”. I caught the fish on Lake Granbury which is very encouraging after the recent golden algae fish kill on the lake. The fish were really strong and several went well into my backing. Spring has definitely sprung.

That's really cool, and, to me, a phenomenal catch rate.

Carp were suspending and surface feeding last week in a couple of Grapevine feeder creeks. Some of what the fish were feeding on was plant material, blossom bits dropped from overhanging trees, I'd guess. All I brought were weighted flies and a full-sink line, dedicated to white bass.

Were you getting surface takes?

I was using my carp slayer fly. They were hitting the floating version and slow sinking fly.
