I caught a carp on a fly with a bent spine. The fish fought in a circle, but appeared to be very healthy. It always interests me how fish like this can survive and thrive.

Had a bayou growing up that 20% of the bass we caught had that issue. We called them humpbacks. Always thought it was genetic in that water sytem.

Over the years I have seen several different species of fish including carp with deformed spines.



Side Note: Like stated above. All seemed healthy.

I was looking through some old pictures and found that I had caught the same fish in 2021. Pretty interesting that it has live at least 2 years.
