I am looking for a 100ah 12-volt lithium marine battery that won't break the bank.

Eg4 100ah on sale. I like them and I have tortured mine for over a year.

A business here in DFW sells them, I bought mine direct from them.

So far no issues, but time will tell. I think they have a 5 year warranty.


Bms has Bluetooth and phone app is pretty basic, but I can check the voltage and percentage available. Only thing is you have to check them one at a time.

I have been using these for over a year and have blown me away. Never have gotten low or weak even fishing 2-3 days with out charging. All day in the wind using spot lock and still never more than 40% discharged. I run 3 of the 12v 100ah and charge with a minn kota 460 PCL.

Whatever brand you get make SURE they are sealed well. IP65 at the very least. Better if they are IP68, which means they are submersible.

I ordered a pair of lithiums off of Amazon. They worked perfectly for about a year and a half and then suddenly they both failed. I had not paid any mind to sealing issues as my boat has a battery cabinet where they are protected. But as I found out — only to a point. After many daily heat up and cool down cycles water vapor began to condense to liquid water inside the battery cases. There are battery management circuit boards and other vulnerable electronics inside these lithium battery boxes. When I opened up my failed batteries I poured about 3 ounces of water out of each one. The circuit boards were wrecked. This was not a fault of the battery manufacturer. It was buyer error.

If these same batteries had been indoors in a climate controlled environment they would have been fine.

I replaced the failed batteries with EG4 Batteries. They are IP68 rated. They are built in Texas. They have a very high cycle rating. They are sold by a solid vendor — Shut Up And Fish.

I've had people tell me installing lithium batteries of any brand in your boat immediately voids your TM and electronics warranties....now most of those warranties are only good for a year or two anyways, but I was curious if:
1. anyone else has heard this or can confirm that's the case?
2 has anyone had more problems with their electronics since installing lithium?

Most new trolling motors sold are compatible with lithiums. MK advises against long runs when using lithiums. Old trolling motors could possibly fry the circuit boards, I wouldn’t use lithiums with them.

I have never heard of any electronic manufacturing co, advise against lithiums. Not you have to stay in the proper voltage range or you could fry a graph and lose warranty. For example, 2 companies are making 16v lithiums, you must use a voltage regulator if you own Lowrance graphs, if using the 16v.
