I really do not feel like the boat manufacturers are making any more than what they should in order to stay in business and to make a profit, the engine, trolling motor, electronics companies etc also have to make a profit in order to remain in business. We have no idea what these companies overhead is, how can we sit here and say they are ripping us all off ? If they are making a killing you would see start up companies entering the market and being much cheaper for the same product, not going to happen. When are you getting one?

In 2012 a Ranger Z21 was around $64K today around $110K
In 2012 a Ford F250 Lariat diesel was around $43K today is around $85-90K
It seems the cost increase of bass boats is in line with the cost increase of most major purchases. The only thing that has not increased for a lot of Americans is their earnings, so things are now unaffordable.

the boat companies that are gone it is for one reason demand of folks to buy retail boats some of the companies thought that if every third boat was a team boat they could make it. the reason tis is true is because long time builder has popped several champion models everybody is waiting with baited breath til they come out an see the price an they cant sell 50 boats a year. I know how they could sell them, lower the stupid prices. I honestly wish people would just start cancelling orders and standing up atleast a little. My backside hurts just looking at newer boats, vehicles, etc. I dont have enough lube to take that kind of screwing How can you say they should lower prices or can lower prices without having a knowledge of their build costs? I would think like most Indus that their payroll amounts have increased the past 2 years in order to retain employees.

I just bought a new Caymas, not in the market right now, maybe in a year or two I will get another itch but I kinda doubt it.

I think a lot of people are not aware of that fact. It's as if people don't read...IKON is a brand of a well know boat maker. From their website, "As a tribute to the original Hydra-Sports bass boats that graced the waters almost a half-century ago, HCB Yachts proudly introduces the new iKon boat brand to the marketplace with their first LX21 and LX20 editions."

It's not about the company going out of business, it's about them terminating their high dollar bass boat project

I dont know about the boat industry but i havent seen many wages going up anywhere, just the cost of everything. But, my main point is if, IF people would quit taking it then we could really change the landscape of cost without effecting wages or anything. Lets say people stood together and went to a boat manufacturer, just one, and said we are cancelling or will not buy another boat until prices decrease without cutting wages, jobs, or quality. They would either comply or get put out of business right? Then just the effect of that would impact the whole boat industry because others would see that people are fed up. Same with autos, houses, etc. It can be done, the problem is we wont do it

You are missing the point, what makes you think the boat builders are making all this money ? Do you have inside info on what their overhead is ? If people quit buying boats tens of thousands of workers would lose their jobs, sounds like a hell of a plan, lets band together and put the boat builders out of business.

It’s the cost of the raw goods and add ins driving boat costs, it’s not high margins from boat companies.

... Lets say people stood together and went to a boat manufacturer, just one... Which one???... Hell, we can't even agree on what our favorite flavor of ice cream is much less reel, rod, line, spinnerbait, outboard, 4 stroke or 2 crankbait, truck, SUV and you expect all of us to unite and confront a boat maker...
