I think hasben and lee hit the nail on the head. the bore on my .22's don't seem to be any dirtier than any of my centerfires after hundreds of rounds, but the action is always filthy. I cleaned my Ruger MK1 last night and had to use a brass pick to scrape all the fouling and gunk from the action. A toothbrush wouldn't touch it.

Understood. Daughter #3 and I used to take a .22mag and a .17 with us when I was feeding and murder jack rabbits on the ranches we fed.

My "imperfect" Sig Sauer Mosquito shoots .22LR, and I love to shoot it after it's been cleaned.
I get about 100-150 rounds in before an occasional misfire, and sometimes it's the bullet that won't fire.

My next .22LR will probably be the Sig Sauer P322, which is designed by Sig, and apparently almost flawless.
The Sig Mosquito was NOT designed by Sig Sauer.

I do not have a pistol that is .22 WMR, but I'm thinking about it, possibly a Taurus 942M, 8-shot revolver.

I've never shot or considered a WMR pistol. I do wonder if the ammo is easily available.

Regardless, the Mosquito is a blast when it's clean, and the P322 will be coming.

Wife has an FN 502 .22 pistol that shoots very well if you use high velocity 22LRs. It comes optic ready and she put a red dot on it.

.22 mag can be hard to find sometimes, not near as bad now as it was a while back tho.

for a revolver, look at the ruger single six with both cylinders, .22lr and .22mag in the same gun.

I owned one Walther, and it was such a bad experience, I'm turned off from anything "Walther."

I'm sure they make nice products, but I won't be buying one again even though my TFForum buddies recommend them.

Addendum: I know, I know, I'm having "some misfires" with my Sig Mosquito, yet I'm interested in yet another Sig 22 LR.
That is because the original Mosquito is not truly a Sig product. We'll see what happens!

May I suggest the Taurus TX22? I really, really like mine. I am still playing with ammo for it. It loves the CCI mini mags, but I think after it gets worn in a bit, it will handle the Federal Automatch just fine. It hates Winchester.

I have looked down on Keltec firearms forever and am not saying they are premium guns, but recently I bought a SUB2000 and have really enjoyed shooting it. Not one malfunction. I was looking at the PMR30, a .22WMR with a 30 round capacity.
