Because people still dream of how great it used to be but in reality, its now a dink fest of half starved fish.

They say it is dropping 6 inches a day. Guess they are pulling a lot of water from Mexico.

I was there three weeks ago . The water level today is 10 ft lower than when I was there. The largest fish we caught was 3 lbs . caught most fish on a weightless senko.

Laugh all you want but its currently only 5' over what it was a year ago. That 20' it gained last summer is all but gone.

If I could make it that far that would be great. I just mainly want to sight see and if I can manage to catch a few fish thats a plus. We have a lease in Loma Alta so I figured it was about time to bring the boat.

51.56 ft low today. Dropping everyday but slowed some. We will be at the all time low again if we don't get good rains. Box Canyon has already closed one of it's lanes.

Only 3’ above where it was a year ago before it captured over 20’ of water. Will be lower than that in a week or so.

Did the bass get a chance to spawn before they pulled all the water?

Most did i'm sure, they learn to adapt. Water release just slowed to a trickle (04/27). It's about time.

We fished catfish Weds and Thurs and Diablo it had to be unless you want to haul to Rough Canyon. That hike up Diablo is still a killer. My buddy is younger than me by a year so he got the honor- TWICE! Very few fishermen out but the lake is fishable just use your GPS and be careful. The drawdown has slowed I understand. The Del Rio fellows and TMD should know more about that! We had the cleaning station to ourselves for 2 days!

Yes but hard to find the bigger fish for us. Cold front came through Weds night and the wind shift changed things up. Lot of undersize fish.

Thanks for the report. We plan to put in at rough canyon and if we don't find any bass at least we can catch a few catfish. I'm really hoping to catch my first smallmouth.

Fished April 28th and 29th.
Wind was absolutely Brutal.
Had to stay in the Devils river to escape it.
Fished shallow wind blown banks with blood bait.
Ended up with 20 channels for the weekend. First time to fish the lake and we didn't get to explore it due to the wind.
Fished in water 7' and shallower with slip corks.

Yeah the wind never stops blowing out there. We plan to go up river so maybe it wont be too bad. Glad you caught a few. We have been catching a bunch on Lake Conroe lately

Fished two days last week. Had one afternoon with no wind so fished the main lake some. Caught lots of small ones on deep diving crankbait. Caught more smallmouth than I expected and they fight hard for their size.
