I haven't seen any south of the Caney Creek arm but I also haven't gone looking for it.

From a Lake Conroe FB page

“Lake Conroe Association is sponsoring a poker run out of The Palms Marina on October 1, 2022. We are trying to raise funds to fight the Hydrilla infestation in Caney Creek (Lake Conroe Party Cove). Hydrilla once infested 6000 acres of the lake and 100% of the shoreline. We will be updating our Facebook page and will share with more details within the next few days.”

Yeah we gotta fight to control hydrilla where we all try to play in the timber. I avoid Conroe due to those idiots.

+1

I have never understood the fascination of wake boats in the Caney Timber. Before I die, please Lord let me see one of those boats high centered on a 50 year old hardwood!! Please!!!

Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.

There’s grass and pad’s growing in places I’ve never seen it. I’ve lived and fished out here for a long time and have been catching a lot of fish this year. I knew as soon as I saw the grass this would happen, unfortunately. I feel there has to be a happy medium but I’m sure all of it will be eradicated once again. Limited spraying is understandable but I am vehemently opposed to the carp. They eat everything down to the ground and muddy the water. I’m pretty sure they wreck bass beds in the process.

I have also been seeing it grown in some weird areas this year. Everything I’ve seen in the south is fresh and green.

Yes they have been spraying. I heard an airboat running from my house on Monday afternoon. I drove down to the neighborhood boat ramp and saw them loading up. They had been running all over the areas west of Walden rd in the canals around grand harbor. [Linked Image]

They are back out spraying it again. Claim is that it won’t kill the native grass like eel grass that’s also growing.

They need to leave it alone in areas where there aren’t waterfront homes or docks. Not going to do it.

We all know that will never happen.

My father in law sent me a pic on Monday morning at 11:00 of that airboat beginning to spray.

I heard an airboat in the very back of Caney on Tuesday. He was back there all morning.

This is why I’ll never buy a home on a lake. I couldn’t stand to be neighbors with people that endorse such behavior.
