Hey guys, I will have a day between OH Ivie and picking a friend up from the airport or more likely Plano.

I may choose to stay another day at Ivie but wanted an alternative.

Any recommendations on a lake south or west of DFW?
All of these seem to be fairly close to my travel.

Pretty much all of those lakes are having low water conditions right now so you may want to check to see what ramps are open. I would add Possum Kingdom to your list. FYI, Granbury just had a fish kill on part of the lake from golden algae as well.

Of those choices I would pick Leon & Daniel but I haven’t ever fished either one.

Bridgeport or any of the metromess lakes if you want to swing North a bit...

I'd go to Squaw Creek for post spawn feed up....and the lake shouldn't be busy.

On the east side South D&D ramp is probably in the best shape of all of the ones on the lake. On the west side Possum Hollow is open and usable for bass boats and Bass Hollow ramp is open. If it drops much more this spring those are going to be real iffy soon. State park has one lane open.

If you're picking up at the airport, you have Grapevine and Lewisville to add into the mix.

Benbrook, Worth, and Eagle Mountain should also be in range of travel.

On the Plano side you have Ray Hubbard and Lavon... Nevermind, forget that.

I agree with PK as the "best" option. However, if your looking for a numbers day of fishing fun, Squaw Creek is your target - take into account the days of the week and limited hours the lake is actually open (don't get me started on that BS).

Hubbard sucks right now. PK has been on fire for a month
