We all know how evil and invasive HYDRILLA is, despite the fact that it’s great for fish and anglers, it MUST be destroyed at all costs.
So, how about….
•Rainbow trout, Brown trout. Are they native?
•Grass Carp (Hydrilla eaters). Native?
Things are so bassackwards. Is there any common sense left in this world?
I’ve been on the losing side of the Hydrlilla debate for for a long time, don’t make much sense to me.

Yes, LMB and SMB were here before that frozen land bridge allowed human beings to walk across the Bering Strait into the Americas.

![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/03/full-28532-175903-smb.jpg) Native Range: Florida Largemouth Bass are native to peninsular Florida. The northern extent of its native range reaches to the mouth of the St. Johns River, and west to, but not including, the Suwannee River (Robins et al. 2018). Largemouth Bass in northern Florida are often intergrades with intermediate characteristics of both subspecies. This zone of integration spans from the Choctawhatchee River in the panhandle to the St. Mary’s River drainage on the Atlantic slope of Florida (Page and Burr 2011; Robins et al. 2018). ... Dan

^^^^ Best evidence in opposition to George Perry's 1932 weighing of an alleged 22lb 4oz bass caught 150 miles north of the Florida/Georgia line.

Most of the invasive species got here in the name of science and now they want to penalize the anglers

As has already been pointed out, Florida bass are not native to Texas. Neither are horses...or humans of European or African descent.

See above about the land bridge. We all came here from somewhere else. Some cultures just got here sooner than others.
