Since the sand bass are spawning in the rivers, what does spawning activities look like? I've seen some fish splashing on the surface but not bite on anything. I wondered if when I see that, I should stay and try to get them to bite, or am I wasting my time and move on.

You won't see anything, it all happens on the gravel, sand, out rocks in the creeks. They just gather up in the pools, eddies, and they don't like muddy bottoms. If your not fishing around a gravel, or rock bottom keep moving.

Splashing might be drum, carp, or spot tail gar.

You’ll see a pod of 4-5 fish splashing around in gravel rapids usually

Not true. All the creeks I fish have muddy bottoms.

You will most definitely see spawning activity. They will come to the surface in groups from 2-4 or so and splash in circles. I actually got this on film in the video below from last week

At about the 1049 mark you can really see it on the opposite bank
