Wow, the hatred for the kayak runs deep here! I have a bass boat and a kayak and use both of them. I've seen way more MORONS trying to back down or hog up the ramps with their wake boats and jet skis than kayaks. I'm not "Broke" and I do use a spinning rod occasionally. The people at the ramp I can't stand are some of the "Arrogant" bass fishermen. I'd like to emphasize the word "SOME" because the majority of them are respectful and courteous but there's always that one guy.....

They hating because some of the best bass fisherman in the world are fishing out of Yaks and having a great time doing it. The haters are too old, uncoordinated and round to manage a yak. They need heated seats and 19 graphs to catch 2lb bass. Some "Outdoorsman" they are indeed. Further anyone calling kayak fisherman broke is tripping, most I know CHOOSE to fish out of yak. They would be perfectly capable of going out getting a 70k loan at 15%APR for 10 years and being upside down on a boat just like every other proper glitter boat owner. Then have the boat be "In the shop" as often as not lol. I see why they are hating.

I went from the boat side to the kayak and get dirty looks from boaters all the time until they get up close and see my set up and get curious or they see me catching fish behind them where they just blew through. That being said, the boater side of me is still the guy that pulls to the side, gets all my gear rigged up and I dump my kayak in the water off the trailer and use my trolling motor to spot lock it out of the way and go park the truck. Taking the same amount of time, if not less than a boat guy fishing solo. Bass Elite Greg DiPalma doesnt write off kayak guys, hes fishing the BASS kayak series and just took first place a few weeks ago on guntersville taking home $13,000 with an entry fee of $250 same with Ike, hes been fishing kayak tournaments for a few years, and more and more gaining interest.

So many people struggling right now in this economy, what a complete azzhat of a post. Not everyone has their momma to bail them out. As much as I typically get a chuckle out of your arrogance, this one is some weak [censored] [censored]. Eh. I’m mostly joking. MOSTLY! Academy needs to include a zeroxed pamphlet of boat ramp etiquette(just a simple “how to”) with them $500 boats. XEROX sir I believe is what you were referring to. It is the year 2023 where paper pamphlets rarely exist. Pull out your phone and scan that QR code!
