I saw this on FB. I guess instead of flipping it into the boat, the stump just wanted to keep the motor for itself. Anyone have a guess on motor’s age? ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/03/full-63142-175284-ab7cf2c5_911e_49f8_8f8d_1f4a1743ffa0.jpeg)

years ago, people carried small motors in trunk of their car and rented fishing boats at the lake.....lot of instances of people hitting stumps and knocking engines off into the lake....some people carried short chain or rope and tied it to motor to prevent losing motor overboard....problem was you could only tighten those old motors down with two clamps and that wasn't enough to hold the motor if you hit something very hard....

I remember them days, Dad had a 7.5 Firestone and oil mixing directions said use 30 wt oil. He would put it in a barrel to run it before we would go use it to make sure it would run. I think a 15 or16 ft Lonestar boat rented for $5 a day without a motor.
