Dock Shooting Rod broke last night, 1 month after the warranty expired Looking through options - does anyone have a strong opinion on a 1 piece vs 2 piece dock shooting rod? The previous rod was a 1 piece. Thanks

I am very lucky, as I have a 5' 6" Pro Angler one piece rod that is 25 years old. So yes, I'd advise a one piece

ugly stick makes a little rod, 5.5 or 6 ft I believe.. lots of spring to it, and hard to break.. the little pro angler rods are good too. I also have a BM sharpshooter, around 15 years too.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

BnM Sharpshooters and Sam's Super Sensitive 7 fters are my go to dock shooters. I don't think it makes a difference if they are one piece or two honestly.
Click the link below to get 10$ off a 50$ or more purchase for both rods.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone and the discount code Anthony. I used it a few weeks ago on some plastics and jig heads.

I’ve tried a bunch. I used to love the 7’ GRod before they went under. I’ve been using a 7’ Trick Stick by Jenko since then and have been very pleased. I like a longer rod for distance and it has good backbone to pull bigger fish away from the dock pilings.

If you can get your hands on the Shakespeare wild Series WSSP61L-C6'0" you`ll not be disappointed. It`s a one piece design very sensitive and depending how skilled you are will really shoot a 1/16 oz jig a country mile under a dock! If you can find one .

I have 3 rods that i've used for dock shooting.
I have the BnM 6' sharp shooter, the Lew's Wally Marshall Speed Shooter and a Cabela's Fish Eagle 6'. I actually like the fish eagle the best. I've had issues with the tip eye insert falling out of the BnM. Although I will say that i contacted BnM about that and they sent me a new tip eye, no questions asked. I've also broken 2 of the speed shooters.
I'm sure there may be better rods but those are my arsenal.

Awhile back I bought 4 B N M 4'6" tennesee seat rods. 1 st day 1 broke hooking a fish and second one broke on a hook set. I gave the other 2 away telling the person beware it may ( will) happen to them. too

I use a 6ft BnM Sharpshooter as my dock shooter. A 7 foot rod is to long for how I shoot and I have been meaning to try a 5.5ft rod but I have not got around to it.

+1 for the 4' Ugly Stick. Heck of a rod, has good bend, and wont back down from a good fight.
