What are some of the closest clear water or grass lakes near DFW? Trying to find something new to fish.

Grass - Davy Crockett; Athens; Bob Sandlin;
Clear - Bridgeport; Squaw Creek; Possum Kingdom; Texoma

Wheeler branch (no bilge boats allowed)

Brandy Branch (or Perky) but that's not close to Dallas.

Hawkins - Texas clear and grass especially the north end. About hour and half from mesquite. As David said Athens usually Texas clear and grass.

I will give a disclaimer on Bridgeport. It's not gonna be super clear in most cases. Just more clear than quite a few other lakes. It's not crystal clear by any means and it's easy to find some lightly stained to stained water in most areas of the lake. The majority of the line I use out here is 16-20lb.

Bridgeport is pretty murky and fishing slow atm.

Athens, even with all the rain it’s still clear, and the fishing is good water temps 58 to 62.

Cedar Lake/Cleburne State Park is very clear at times.

Wow, forgot about that - and that's were I caught my first fish when I was a kid!!!
