With the spawn nearing, do you guys have any info/advice for sight fishing for bass out of kayak? By sight fishing I am referring to catching them off beds this Spring! I'm pretty new to kayak fishing, only been out a few times but I don't think my kayak is stable enough for me to stand up in & sight fish.... Thinking maybe I can paddle into areas and locate the beds, then possibly get up near the bank and sight fish from there ? Or any other tips/tricks you guys have used?
Thanks for any info!

You've got the idea for sure!
You're not going to see many until you're on top of them. Pull back and once you know the location you can consider applicable strategies.

I don't sight fish from a kayak, but do fish shallow from time to time February to June. Not windy--fluke or senko Windy--blue gill or crappie wake bait, swimbait, or square bill.
Rocky areas and gaps in vegetation/trees/laydowns.

Rocky areas and gaps in vegetation/trees/laydowns. Im with CCTX... Personally, I strongly prefer to fish shallow (even when I probably should be deep) but I tend to focus more on the macro than I do the micro. Meaning, I will locate a bank that looks good and slowly fish the entire 500' rather than focus on a single laydown or a single bed for an extended period of time. Like CCTX, I will slow down even more when there is a change in structure (i.e.: grass to rock, flat to gully, mud to grass, grass to wood, etc). From my personal experience, sight fishing is overrated. I cannot tell you how many beds I have pitched/flipped without so much as a nibble... in fact, I once watched a big girl gently pick up my 8" lizard by the tail and move it 6" outside of her bed. Saying this, I do see the value in fishing an area that is ripe for spawning. These girls (and guys) will remain close by and will hunt in their backyard when they get hungry and/or feel the need to be extra defensive. If they are extra defensive, they will patrol an area well beyond the actual bed. Just my two cents. There are folks out there with a better track record than me, so take my two cents for what it's worth :-)

I appreciate the input guys, and I understand sight fishing for bass on beds is not for everyone. However, it IS my favorite way to fish for bass in the spring even if I get less bites than those that aren't sight fishing. Really was hoping for tips/advice for specifically sight fishing from an unstable kayak....
Anything I could do to make it more stable where I could stand and fish? Or like was previously mentioned, is it best just to locate the bed and then try to get up on the bank in that area and fish to get better sights on the bed/fish?

I tried a while back but I was too heavy to walk around in my kayak. Had to blind cast at them once I found them.

Absolutely... we all have our preferred methods of fishing and was not trying to kibosh what you enjoy. They do make outriggers for kayaks. I have never used them, but I have seen a couple of guys with them. You might want to give a set a try. https://www.amazon.com/YakGear-Kaya...hy=9026954&hvtargid=pla-782078306394
