can you guys walk me though it if needed..don't think Ive ever installed or removed one so any help is appreciated current one looks to be attached by 2 somethings covered by white plastic circles..one of the white plastic covers is cracked and allows the seat to move to the side and is not far from coming off..not sure the correct terms for the parts didn't google it, came here first thanks

Easiest thing in the world. There is one screw on either side of the lid covered by the plastic covers you're seeing on top. Take a flathead screwdriver and pop the caps, remove the screws (there is a plastic nut holding on the underside...you shouldn't need a pair of pliers to hold them, but you may). Put on new seat and use the screws and nuts that come with it. Takes like 3 minutes. I'd get a wood seat instead of the cheap plastic ones, but that's just me.

Do not overtighten the new screws/bolts or nuts. You could crack the toilet (my Dad did that once). Hand tighten only.

A lot of the newer seats have "snap off" bolts that are designed to snap off when tightening the nuts. LSS is correct, this is an easy to do replacement.

I had to double check my calendar, yep 3/01 not 4/01. Very easy job as long as you heed the warning about over tightening.

just get a dam bidet and be done with it! no seat needed, squat n rinse. how hard can that be? just think of it as deer camp with a garden hose.
