I would not use a trick worm on a drop shot. Too big and no action. I’d use a roboworm. It does all the work for you. Don’t put a robo worm in a fish tank. You’ll be highly disappointed. It lays there and does nothing and won’t even float the hook. They are full of salt. I know it’s probably hands down most used drop shot worm. And they do catch fish. I just prefer other baits

Robos are not meant to float the whole thing...the main body is full of salt for a reason. The head is designed to nose down and allow the tail to float and quiver. Also, if you over size the hook on the 4" robos you over power the baits design. I've gone all the way down to a size 2 and 1 rebarb when the bite is slow. This allows the bait to bounce around more. But they sure bend when you get a good one on.

Don't listen to these fishermen, let the fish tell you what they like. Try different hooks and weights combinations and hook to weight lengths. Find what works best for you and the way you fish. Tightlines

Tightlines Basically this reads: Don’t try anything suggested. Try everything until you figure it out. That’s a great idea!

4-6 inch straight tail worms like roboworms are an obvious answer, but the senko cannot be overlooked as a drop shot worm- especially the 3 and 4 inch. Also, a grub or 3-4 inch swimbait is also an excellent drop shot bait if you want to work it a little faster/ grind the bottom w the sinker.

Buddy's finesse worm, 1/0 ewg, texas rigged. Appropriate sized weight for depth. fish mine on a medium action bait caster. Numerous big fish on this set up. generally slow drag with paused on hard bottom. action looks like a minnow darting and then stopping. Worm floats the hook well. You can find these baits at Fake Fork Marina or the Minnow Bucket.

I use different sizes of these almost exclusively and Zoom trick and finesse worms are used probably 80% of the time
