Question about shallow water crappie when the lake is releasing water. The lake closest to me is currently a little over a foot high. Right now they are releasing but very very slowly. Water maybe drops an inch in 24 hours. Question is will this push crappie off the banks while there is water being released? Was thinking about trying out a creek after work tomorrow but wasn’t sure if it would be worth the effort with the dam releasing

This would be lake bardwell. I’ll usually venture off to Richland chambers or cedar creek for better success but a after work trip has to be bardwelll since I live in Ennis

I fished Bardwell a lot a couple of years ago. I always found I could catch fish pretty much anytime. There is plenty of shallow brush in the cove by the ramp at Love park all the way around to the intake structure. Also along the east shore down to the dam. I never had much luck on the north end of the lake, but really didn't give it much chance as I always caught fish around Love. Give lake Clark a go. I've caught 5 two pounders there in the past.
"I'd rather be fishing!"

Yes sir lake Clark has some beasts in it. I know of all the brush piles. I was more of asking how the lowering water would affect the fish in the creeks right now

All the lowering water will do is make them not get as shallow. They will just back out to maybe 1.5-3 ft versus 8 inches to 1.5 ft deep if that makes sense. They want to give themselves cushion so that they don't start a nest on what is usually dry land. I would not let the falling water keep me from going
