Well I took the day off and decided to roll on Fork this morning. Hooked my bug up behind my truck and headed out to Coffee Creek Marina, got her launched and headed down to the south end of the Coffee Creek area where it runs into the main lake and figured I'd fish my way back on the west side, little did I know my trolling motor was NOT going to cooperate, I dropped the trolling motor and hit the GO button and instantly had no steering, broken cable on my Fortrex. I've got a call into Sartin Marine right now to see what a cable replacement cost.
Oh but it got even more fun. I headed back to the Coffee Creek Marina and the bottom fell out. It rained so hard I literally got lost because I couldn't see nothing much past the bow of the boat, so I just stopped and let it rain out. By then I was so wet I might as well have jumped in the lake. Yep didn't bring rain gear. Hope your Friday is better than this.

Aw world famous lake fork. Did you try Lake side trolling motor (903) 383-3232? He's helped me out a time or two.

Left a call with Sartin Marine before I took myself a dryout nap. Haven't heard back yet. They got good reviews on here for trolling motor repair and I bought the boat from them.

If it is minn kota, there is a small MK authorizedshop on the lake that does the repair while you wait.

Call Lake side trolling motor (903) 383-3232. I'm in MS but seems the stumps were the winner the last two years I came down to Fork. Lakeside had me running in 2 hours on one repair and the next morning on the next trip. Prices were not bad either. I actually brought him to 10 year old Tour's 36 volt and had him rebuild them both 4 years ago for spares. The guy can fix any trolling motor.

There's also East Texas Trolling Motor behind Lake Fork Resort. They're a Minnkota repair center.

I've got an almost new 36V MK Fortex 101 sitting in my garage at Fork. Willing to part for cheap just to get it out the garage.

Lakeside does not replace MK cables. He told me last year. Took mine to Sartin and fixed it on the spot. Great service. Make sure you tip him good.

Back when I was tourney fishing I kept a spare set with me on the boat.
Once I got to pass it on to a boat on the lake when theirs broke but they never broke on mine when I was out there.

There are a couple videos on YouTube on how to change them out. About 45 minutes or less for me.
