Decided to go with Iconic lithium for trolling motor as well as my electronics, Great idea right. Oh yea did I mention this is on a z521 Ranger. Well this has been a real chore, Ranger does not leave room for running new wires and 3 days later with an entire new vocabulary learned, boat is ready for the water. A special shout out to Andy at Drew batteries and can not leave out David at Shut up and fish and to Mike Singletary as well as my fishing partner for all thier help. Now then no more running out of battery on the lake and lost about 200 plus pounds on boat.

Well, I am sure the 200 pounds out of the tail of her, you will notice. Just curious what model years is your z521? You running a 4-stroke motor? I really like those boats, if for anything the small gunnel lip height around the front deck on the 521. The lip around the front deck on the 521 has the least height of any of Rangers others.

I am not a big fan of that lip around the front deck at all really. The way I like to flip, that lip gets in the way lol. After I fished from the first flats boat I realized it right away. Now sure, you need to pay attention or you can step right off the deck, or if you like all your sticks laying on the deck at your feet you can kicked them over board, but I don't like that anyway.

The lack of room you mentioned for running extra wires, I am guessing this would be down the starboard side for your extra, separate circuit for electronics? I have done lots of work on Rangers bassboats over the years, so just curious is all. What size lithium batteries and how many did you install? I am certain your going to really like them. What TM are you running? Sorry for all the questions here, just curious about your setup. Big step up going to the lithium batteries if you ask me, plus big extra expense too. But the abilities they afford you is huge.

When running wires down the gunnels of our bassboats, it can be quite daunting when doing this by yourself. You find yourself in a hurry when doing this, well your in trouble right from the word go if you ask me. This is not the project if in a hurry. I don't like to hurry anymore period, even if I should be lol... Hurry is of the devil, and nothing good ever comes from being hurried.

Anyway, I am sure your glad to have all this ready to fish.

I have a 2011 z521. It has ultrex 36 v. Garmin livescope on bow as well as mega360 hooked up to a 10 inch hummingbird. On dash it's a 12 and 8 humingbird. I ran 3 50 amp for ultrex and 1 125 amp for electronics
All batteries are on disconnects as well as the Agm starting battery. Speaking on price the initial cost is high but not when you figure the warranty on the lithium verses the wet cell. I am only 5'4 and I haven't an issue flippin. The only issue with flippin I have is the fish don't cooperate all the time. My partner and I ran the first wires to the console from bow and that was before I decided to go lithium so now had to run from battery to console and connect those wires together for continual run. It definitely is not a 1 person job. Happy with the results though.

Man you did load this up nicely. Lots of electronics and lots of batteries. The Ultrex to complement everything. Really sounds like something the extra time you put into the extra rigging you did here will pay you back now. I know lots of benefits from the weight savings, but to me the really biggest thing here with the lithium batteries is how many times you can deep cycle them as compared to lead acid.
