Far from a tackle snob here so yes I’ve had 2 speed demons since they first came out, I use them every time I fish and throw lots of big baits with them. They still work great and I don’t clean my reels ever, when they stop working I just throw them away and buy another cheap one but these haven’t quit on me. Maybe I just got lucky and got 2 good ones but I will buy some more if these stop working.

Well, one thing is for sure, they show the ridiculous mark up on fishing stuff. They used to be $10 reels and all of a sudden they jumped to $100 or more when they put their name on a pros boat

CCTX posted on the other thread that he bought two early versions of the Speed Demon and one of them was functional but the other one was bad out of the box. I had the exact same experience. At least I got them on a BOGO deal.

I bought their BFS model to get in the finesse game on the cheap. It’s a little clunky but not a bad reel by any means.

if it breaks throw it away parts are impossible to get so keep that in mind.

yes great reels my go to rods& reels I never clean them for the price just buy a new one and the best sunglass for for fishing.
