Anyone else feel like we're watching an episode of Yellowstone?

TP&W has a 553M Dollar budget and you ask for my donations, lets see, save Fairfield State Park for public use instead of handing it over to developers then we can talk.

it wasnt handed over to developers pretty sure they were the high bidder on the property an if you had the funds to purchase a big property with a lake on it you wouldnt let folks that you didnt want on the property.

A lot of hate and ugly on the TFF. Never good when anglers are against anglers. Anyway, was my understanding that the state never made an offer. If the state did make an offer it should be available information. When and how much was the offer? Which politicians have friends that are profiting from this? Same old song and dance.

It's not like the state has a projected overage of almost $33B in 2023, I mean that is 33,000 million dollars.

$100M to save a state park seems reasonable

I agree, someone somewhere had a reason to not pursue the purchase prior to "trying to save" the park by politicians

Eminent domain is being discussed in the Lege.

Can the state put a hold on the purchase until an investigation into who is behind the purchase... maybe its the Chinese. I heard a blimp factory was going to be built there. roflmao

doubt that the state will do anything because it will be a private ownership which means the county will be getting big bucks as the land is sold off in plots. if the state was going to do anything it should have happened long before now .

This is a local state rep trying to save face after the fact when she likely knew this was going on all along.

The TPW stopped stocking the lake in 2011 due to fears that a prolonged drought would end the lake. Could this have entered into the decision? Was there at one time a pipeline from the Trinity that ensured water when they were superheating the lake which would be prohibitively expensive even for any tax supported entity?
Golf course? How could this lake provide water to keep up a golf course? I’ve shall see.

Quit being reasonable, it is better to think some dark forces somehow directed a fee simple real estate transaction.
