Do it all now, suck, start the rebuild with early in the round high draft picks. In fact the plan is to suck for 2-3 years then blow up and be good with all these early in the round picks on rookie contracts.

After your QB get the big payday talent will diminish via free agency and your getting back of the end of the round draft picks. Very few franchises can sustain that to the level that New England did over a decade and a half+.

The Cowboys have taken some major cap hits recently but no ring. The Bucs have one to show for it.

Two comments on that - one, I don't think they necessarily have to tank for a one-year $35M hit. Rest of their team stays the same and they're now $35M under the cap the following year and can sign whatever QB they want. Try out a rookie in the meantime.

Two, lots of cowboys fans are saying they can't take a $39M, one-year hit to cut Dak after 2023. I think they absolutely can. Get a rookie going this year.
