Doubtful on the 10, i could see 8. But pics are hard to judge, so maybe it was 12.

Dayum.. That fish has a 10+ pound head but the body came up short. Prob a 8.5, and to be honest it's a really nice fish. You should be proud, and don't worry about size. It's always a treat to have the chance with a fish like that. Thanks for sharing..

And for me it's even better when you release them.. You might just catch her down the road when she's a 12+..

That could have been a 6. Could have been a 10. She was short and thick. How short will determine how much she weighed. Should have put her on a measuring stick to at least have an idea. Or put her on a scale. You've got plenty of equipment. No sense in catching what might be your pb without a scale on board these days. I've caught 6 pounders that looked just like that. The other side of the coin my fishing buddy caught a 12.2 out of Fork that would be a slot fish now. It was barely over 21". Either way it was a really nice bass!

Nice fish for sure but IMO not a DD .

I have been blessed to have caught a few and it just don't look like it would make it.IMO

A 10 plus is not easy to handle as you did in your video.

Most DD mouths are about the size of a ball cap unless you have a huge head. 2 fist will fit anytime in most cases .

Usually bigger jaw bones and bug eyes as well.

Scales are cheap and well worth having. I have 2 on board my boat a spring and a digital and funny thing is the spring scale is very accurate.

Posted this before but these are the most accurate & repeatable scales I have ever used. I'm one of those strange guys that will take a 10# bag of sugar in a plastic grocery bag to the full service meat counter at the store to ask them to weigh it so I can check it against my fishing scales (told ya I was strange)

I thought 6-7 after watching the video myself on mute. Handled multiple DDs and caught tons of 6-9.8 lbs fish myself

Nice fish!

Haha, having no scale on what you think is a DD starts as a 10, then adrenaline wears off and logic come back which takes another 2 pounds off lol.

I have a partner that refuses to carry a scale. When i fish in his boat and forget to bring mine if he catches a hog I always tell him it looks like 3 lbs to me and he oughtta get a scale. lol.
