You 5 fish guys now have another snooze fest just like BASS to watch. At least with MLF you’ll get to see it play out live and not have to wait hours through a weigh in process to know the outcome.

Cheers cheers

I don't think the fishing fan base is that hard to please as a whole. It's just like anything else. The people that are most vocal are the ones that complain about the freaking sky being blue. Just look at every single thread on this forum. It is someone complaining about something and it's usually always the same people. Pretty much everyone I know that follows competitive professional fishing loves the change to best 5.

I think they had to cave otherwise everyone was going to leave, perfect example of why you don't let the angers run your league.

I like the change. It will force professionals to seek out bigger fish as opposed to hammering a big school of barely keepers.

I guess boring depends on who is watching.

IMO boring was watching Evers run away with the first RedCrest by catching 1 - 1.5 lb fish for an hour. A professional angler won $300,000 by catching 1 - 1.5 lb fish. Doesn't get much more boring than that IMO, and I'm a big Evers fan.

Today they said they had run the numbers from all previous every fish counts tournament. 92% of the time, the angler who had the most pounds also had the biggest five. When they did not, they were still in the top three or four.

I was a fan of every fish counts, tried to watch today but couldn’t get interested. I just kept going to the app and checking the standings on my fantasy team, most exciting part of the day was when Chris Lane started to catch some and keep me in the hunt for the truck and boat.

That was a problem but they fixed it with the variable weight minimum, it was like different golf courses having different par #'s. Par for most lakes was a 2lber

It's 1-4 for Kissimmee chain. They got all scientific this year!

It’s more like reality now .

The little fish smack down is not anything I can relate to.
Looking for the biggest five !

It’s too soon to know if going to the best 5 was a good thing or not. I personally think they made a mistake because every scoreable fish counts is one of the pillars MLF was founded on along with catch weigh & release.
It’s been acknowledged by their anglers that they’d have lost more guys to the Opens had the change not been made, to which I’d have said; “so” but I’m not obligated beyond an opinion.
