I've been told that crappie spawn about the same time as white bass (sandies). Black bass spawn next, then shad, bluegill and last, catfish. Never thought about it before, but would like to get opinions from those of you who are on the lake much more than I am. Thanks in advance for input.

from my observations, shad spawn first.. they go very shallow at night and if u ride around just before daylight u can see and hear them doing thier thing,.,along rocky banklines.. it sounds like shrimp flicking around on top of the water... as soon as daybreak hits, it stops.. Next are largemouth, then crappie, carp and white bass.
keep in mind shad spawn in spring and fall.
if you can find the areas that the shad are spawning in, it can be a good spot for crappie to spawn in as well. The shad will spawn in the nutrient rich, oxygenated water.
Carp make a heck of a ruckus when they are spawning in shallow water.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

IMO

Crappie/bass/white bass all roughly spawn at about the same time depending on conditions and locations. Shad are next, then bluegill, then cats.

2. Crappie/Largemouths
3. Bluegill
4. Catfish

Sandbass, then crappie, then bass (assuming we’re talking largemouth), followed by catfish. The Shad spawn is spread out, as is bluegill, because my understanding is bluegill spawn multiple times a season.

On my lakes, I experience the sandies moving up first but spawn about same time as crappie and largemouth. The sandies are on the move up stream now for me and crappie are right behind them but egg laying is about the same time. This is just my experience on the lakes I fish, may vary for some.

Sandbass
Crappie
Bass
Shad
Catfish

There is some overlap on all of those but the majority of each species spawn in that order.

Correct. Carp go right after bass. If carp are spawning lmb are done.

There was a trickle of a false run during the warmer spell in January, but nothing to write home about. I wouldn’t be shocked if there were a few, but we need some heat to really get it going.
