I see on the park website that the water is low and the boat ramp is closed to trailered boats. Has anybody been to the park? Is there fishable water? Hoping to still catch a few on the fly in a month when we make the trip down to camp and hike.

I plan on being out there myself in April, so I've been keeping an eye on it. Here's a pic of what the river looked like in 2008, when the Buchanan lake level was close to what it is now: ![[Linked Image]](https://lastcastpodcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/ColoradoBend2008.png) Looks like a lot of interesting fly-fishing water!

Water levels are good enough for fish to get there. Males have started to move in and it should be really good in a couple of weeks.

Fish are up the river at Sulphur Springs Camp so Colorado Bend should be loaded. Going to be another great year! A little nugget that people don't know is that you can get into the state park as a local if you have a pass from Sulphur Springs. They deem you a local! And if you don't know, the state park shuts down when it reaches a certain number of people. And that is a small number of people.

White grubs or gray jigs. Probably anything but that's what has been used. Water is clear so they aren't being too picky.

We are going to stop by tomorrow for a bit. Never been.what should we throw at em? I'm a fan of road runner jigs if I'm not using a fly rod with a streamer. Or a mepps spinner. Something pretty small and heavy enough to be near the bottom is what you want. If you don't catch something after four casts, you should probably try a different spot.
