I’m glad you made this thread, i usually make one every year for everyone to keep up with and to update through out the white bass run at Neches in Chandler. Now i don’t have to! :)👍🏻

Did a scouting trip Friday 1/20/23. A few males sniffing around, but no numbers. The run hasn’t started in the Neches at Chandler.

Do the hybrids make their way up during the spawn there also?

Could be wrong, don't think hybrids actually spawn...if they're hybrids , they should be sterile... popcorn

Mixed opinions but maybe they are wired to spawn even tho they are sterile but...... We catch a lot of juvenile hybrids on cedar Creek and none have been stocked in eons. . In the past we caught good sized ones up Lacy creek pretty far from the lake.

Don't matter if they're sterile or not. They will still run through the same spawning process as their parental species.

They definitely follow their ancestry. A few years ago I caught nothing but hybrids one day during the peak of the run.

They still go thru the process of spawning. They typically show up a couple of weeks after the sandbass show up. I can remember catching 5 man limits on Rowlett creek using crawfish tails for bait.

Why would hybrids be sterile?
