You guys act like every fisherman in Texas can just go drop $2k on a guide. No matter who it is. Which is far from the truth.

But I truly question just how desperate someone is to pay $2k to catch a bass, or in most situations with him, catch nothing.

Really watering down aren't ya? For me it's about the total experience in gaining knowledge with ffs, chasing giants and fishing with the most accomplished giant slayer I've ever seen. Really, what has you so rattled about what other people do? I don't get it.

Lol. Not rattled at all bud. Just dont really get it.
My thing is this Jack. Even if you paid him and went. It will still take you hours on the water to master it. It's almost like alot of you guys think its the magic $2k. You pay, you'll have it mastered and catch big fish all the time........not going to happen. Time on the water is how you will master it. Do you not find it funny how many people are getting good at it and catching giants that have nothing to do with Josh? Is he good at it...for sure! Does he catch giants everyday like alot of you guys think...not at all. Most days he zeros! He's caught alot of big fish, but he also has you guys believing every word he says.
Everyone of course has their right to pay to do whatever. I just think its stupid to pay that much, and think he could've profited WAY more if he wouldn't gotten arrogant and greedy. But I feel the same way about guys paying to shoot giant deer too.

Serious question.........if you go to Vegas and cant pick up a girl, do go buy a hooker, or keep spitting game? Same comparison in my book! roflmao

Camelot Bell has been $1500 a day for years and many people pay that. A 3 day trip to Mexico is about $1500-$2000 a day to fish with a guide who only speaks a few words of English. I bet a fly fishing trip on some pristine trout stream is pushing that for a day or two. An offshore trip is easily $2000 for a private boat. Bottom line is people pay to enjoy themselves, it is America and we can play the way we want to and can afford to. We can also establish businesses and charge whatever we want to, the market will dictate our success. Mr. Jones sounds like he is becoming successful in that system. I personally will not be paying to fish with Mr. Jones but I am certainly considering a trip with Slade at some point to learn my electronics better! flag

See you on the lake and have a great day!

So $2000 is too much for a hooker too

It's human nature for most bass fishermen. Most are some what egotistical and a tad bit narcissistic, sorry if that hurts some feelings, but it's true.

So, if someone can afford to shorten the curve either by learning to or catching a DD and they can afford a guide like JJ or maybe even a day on a small private lake well stocked, they will do it.

Supply and demand

Ivie is terrible these days with the pot-lickers and just overall rude behavior. I’m quite surprised I haven’t heard of any major altercations. We left a day early last year because we’d had enough. Guys would pull right in front of you without a care in the world. And the lake wasn’t even super crowded. I guess big fish get guys big stupid.

The internet has done much good for bass fishing, but also has gutted the ethics of the sport as well.

it's give and take, #growthesport or really #grow #the #bottom #line

I'm happy JJ is doing what he loves, and has the opportunity to support his family doing it. I'm to much of a cheapskate to pay for any guide. But I did catch two DD's two days ago on a squarbill. Was having a great day, when I caught two fish I thought were monsters. They are strong, but when they don't come up and jump you know they're not bass. I'm happy catching a chunk in my little lake, and can be home in 20 minutes. Someday I will go out there and drop the TM and do some sniping on Ivie.

Wish these two fish were the green fish, they hammered the squarbill on the pause. Lost week the monsters were Goo.

I am still wanting to hear from anyone,,,,anyone,,,,, who has fished with him and their take on his services. He may be worth the 2k if he is that good! Now some ol advise to JJ,,,,,don't advertise your booked out for 60 days at 2k a trip,,,,,I'm sure the ol IRS would love to hear about your true income at 2k a trip popcorn2

Go home at the end of your shift, no matter the cost!
