To the guys who defend it, why haven’t y’all booked your trip yet? If it’s a great deal, what are you waiting on?
I know several guys who spend mucho money on hunting, none of them would spend it fishing. In my opinion, it’s viewed totally different by outdoorsmen. Been trying to... He's booked all the way through April! That’s odd, he made a post on FB about having 2 days cancel, you’d think he had a list of clients. Good for the guy if he can get it, I just don’t see how it holds up long; but maybe it does.

People who bass fish and have never caught a DD fish get desperate to catch one or to learn how to catch one. It's the same thing that drives potlickers, they see you catch they want to catch. It's human nature for most bass fishermen. Most are some what egotistical and a tad bit narcissistic, sorry if that hurts some feelings, but it's true. So, if someone can afford to shorten the curve either by learning to or catching a DD and they can afford a guide like JJ or maybe even a day on a small private lake well stocked, they will do it. Supply and demand my

What is the tip rate for a $2000 trip? If he could put me with a 15+ I'd pay 50% tip.

People seem to forget that the combination of this technique and giant fish have a pretty specific season. It's a cold water pre spawn deal. Not to say you can't use the technique or the knowledge gained year round, but the quality is pretty seasonal. Doubt he could get these rates if he did it year round catching 2, 3, 4 or even 6lbers. The seasonality makes it worth more. The other seasonality component here is he is selling trips to some pretty accomplished tournament anglers. Many of them fish at the highest levels. They know they have to learn this technique. They also have a pretty specific window of availability. More power to him I say. There's clearly more demand than supply for this service.

You are not paying for a chance at a fish, you are paying for his knowledge of FFS. To some people that short cut is worth that amount of money, time is money in the end and a lot of people rather spend money to save time. I have no problems with it, because frankly it really has nothing to do with me. Who cares what he charges

Do you guys realize the percentage of deer hunters that pay for giant high fence deer? Compared to all deer hunters in this state? I would prolly guess maybe 1% if not lower. Most cant afford it!
You guys act like every fisherman in Texas can just go drop $2k on a guide. No matter who it is. Which is far from the truth.
But I truly question just how desperate someone is to pay $2k to catch a bass, or in most situations with him, catch nothing.
