Has anybody checked on/fished the Yegua recently? I see that the middle and East Yegua are still high but dropping. I was thinking of going out there tomorrow morning but don't know if the drive would be worth it.
Lake Level is now only 3.08 ft. low with more water still draining in from the watershed. Weatherman is predicting 3/4 to 1 inch of rain in the Yegua watershed over the next couple days. Then another 3/4 to 1 inch of rain next Monday and Tuesday. Then more small showers after.
Some of the smaller creeks were still up and flowing good as well yesterday. The Middle Yegua may be the best place to fish at this point. It looked decent yesterday.
Wow, EllerTroy and JonL, 2 of the white bass masters chime in at the same time. The white bass sensors must be going off. Y'all can hear them running up the Yegua. Or possibly y'all just share one brain between the 2 of you.

J-Moe I don't know about white bass masters but I will take the compliment coming from you. I thought for sure there would be no run this year but with each rain my hope gets slightly better. I am crossing all my fingers and toes and doing my rain dance hoping that the lake gets at least to the magical number of 236 feet so there is some connection from the creek to the lake. Of course I would love it to get to pool level at 238 feet or better.

Well one thing's for sure👍 You and EllerTroy definitely, slayed the White Bass last year😉🎣 And it's definitely looking good with the rain forecasted for tomorrow, and also for 1st of next week So hopefully the weekend after next it'll warm up and it'll get up to 236 ft. level

J-Moe and EllerTroy, that's just 2 dang funny
And I think it's got to be pool level of about 237' to be able for the Whites to get up Cypress Creek...But right at the mouth, or by the boat ramp area at NCSP, can be an awesome place to soak up some river minnows😉And just wait from them to come to you
Lake Level is 2.92 feet below normal. The East Yegua watershed received about an inch of rain. It has risen over 1.5 feet already. The Middle Yegua received about a half inch of rain and is just maintaining the flow and height that was previously declining. Once again, another sign the Middle Yegua may be the first place to catch white bass as the run develops.
Somerville is roughly 2.5' (2.68' actual) low as of this morning, and should still be rising. Things are looking better for sure, but still have a long way to go for boat access in the creeks. Looking back at pics and my fishing log from over the years, we were already catching good numbers by this time in the years past. Not sure what the combination of warmer temps and lack of water will do to the run, but curious to see.
For those that fish the San Gabe/ "the Steps"/Granger area, Graner Lake is now over pool. Plenty of water for a good run to happen there. May take the boat up the river on Sunday and see what's happening there.
Lake level is 235.46 ft. 2.54 feet below normal. The water is still up and muddy on the Yegua but slowly settling out. There is still a decent flow of water in Nails and Cedar. The weatherman is now predicting only 1/4 inch of rain on Monday.
Rain continues to pop up in the long term forecast but nothing heavy forecasted at this point.
Either way, as long as the Yegua clears up a bit at some point we should have a good run. I was catching white bass before these last 2 rains so there's little doubt that it wouldn't continue to get better.
