Sorry I haven't posted in a while I have been real busy guiding every day.
The lake is still doing great, the usual Ten patterns are working. The bass really haven't gotten into a solid summer pattern yet. We are catching them from 0 to 35 feet no joke.
The lake had caught some water, about 3 feet but they have let about half of that back out, so we are 6 1/2 to 7 feet low. Water temps are low to mid 80's. The shallow vegitation has really taken off. Duck weed (pepper grass) is showing up every where also a new grass we have had a couple of years, kind of looks like the yellow hair that grows out of a ear of corn. It is thick in a lot of areas as well. The hydrilla is strong in the shallow water but has leveled off deep due to the run off from rains, it has stained the water a bit on the main lake. The sun light can't get down 30 feet to let it grow. Don't get me wrong there is plenty of deep grass it just isn't as tall as it should be this time of year.
Had great day Sunday with grass frogs (spro frogs and swamp donkeys) in the Pepper grass and that yellow hair grass from the bank out to 10 ft. Best five 28lbs. Monday we had a two boat trip drift fished main lake flats 28 to 35 feet with senkos tx rigged 3/16 th oz True Tungsten weights and 16 lb gama flouro. Best five in my boat 30lbs or so with a 7.2, 7.12, and three between 5 1/2 and six. and the other boat best five 30lbs or so They had a 8.6, 7.2, and some 4's and 5's. Yesterday we couldn't fish the open water due to the wind but still managed some real nice fish on drop shot off the ends of flat points 27 to 30 ft. Rigged with a zoom finese 18" leader and a 3/8oz weight, 10lb braid with a 14 lb flouro leader.
Last week I flipped a lot of grass had some good fish doing that a few over eight but the numbers were low. The fish are to scattered still for enough areas to have them. A couple friends won a Mexico tournament last weekend with 34lbs the first day and 22lbs the second but most were caught in the same small area flippin' grass.

Thanx for the report Ray. Heading that way in three weeks to get the kids one more trip before school starts. Sounds like the jig grasss bite still isn't strong yet. Glad to hear about the topwater bite. Thanx again.

They were pulling it hard for two weeks, over 4000cfs but they cut it back to around 2000cfs and the lake has held steady for the past week. I talked to one of the dam people this morning, he said that was all they were going to pull, and there was no talk of repair.
Personally I like the lake 30 ft low, more fishable water. The grass gets out there closer to the ledges and main creek and river channels. And it is still one of the biggest lakes in the state when it is low. Either way full or low there are still the same fish.
