when the ramps froze over and the fish are biting. couple of bags of sand or some kitty liter. i carry a set of snow chains that will work. Ashes from a fireplace work pretty good also.

A 20lb propane cylinder hooked up to a 500,000 btu weed burner torch might work on that frozen ramp. You could blaze two lanes down the ramp for your tires just don't veer out of the melted lanes or you might be up caca creek without a paddle.
Those gentlemen launching that boat in the first picture are crazy, must be thinking "the fish will not win today" or maybe " I'm tougher than you".

That’s crazy. So many rocks big where he is. The ramp is so long you would need a very long winch cable and another truck. He stayed up to 2:30 am discussing with the boys on how they were gonna catch the SAL. Looks like the kids ditched him

And that my friends is why you never buy a used boat from a guide!
It’s hard to make yourself not use to much brake and to have faith that when you get to the waters edge you’ll stop.

So it looks like this person or fishing guide is pushing his boat off the trailer into the water at Ivie. I’ve been there recently and am aware of how rocky it is, assuming he’s at Elm Creek.
The biggest question I have is - did the guy get rewarded for his efforts and catch some dang fish?

All to chase a little insignificant fish. SMH. I like to fish as much as the next guy, but this has gotten way out of hand.

I dont know why you stop there , just put the trailer in the water and leave it if you cant get out now . but i applaud your effort . sometimes you got nothing better to do .

Looks like he tried to load on the rocks to stay off the frozen ramp. I bet the boat trailer bunks froze up and when the trailer bounced on the rocks, coming outta the water, the boat slid off. Gotta wonder just how much common sense it takes to be a good fisherman. Appears not much. Reminds me of the time my friend beached his new boat. He’d had it about a week. It was considerably faster than his previous boat and he was kinda showing off to me a little. He beached his boat about 20ft up on the bank. It was an 18’8” boat.
