I have a flat top AR I want to set up for hog hunting. I am trying to figure out what type of optic I want on it. Not really looking for another eotech. 150 yards or so is the furthest I’d be shooting. Looking to spend $500 or less. What does the TFF say?

for a daylight scope you can't do better than the vortex hog hunter, awesome scope imo. with the lighted reticle you can hunt from can't see to can't see, it gathers a lot of light in low light.

I also have a streamlight green light for after dark if needed, works awesome with the red dot in the reticle.

I’ve heard those are good scopes. I wish Nikon was still making scopes.

Nikon got out of the scope market 3 years ago.

This is also a good option.

Buddy of mine put a Burris Fullfield 3x9 on his and I was shocked at the clarity of the glass. For $150 that would be hard to beat.

Personally I would go with some mid range glass in 50mm and max it out with maybe 12x power. 14-15x power wouldn’t be bad for some of those longer shots. I’m tired of my 1-6x and 3-9x scopes on my ARs, but still enjoy shooting my 4-14x Burris scope on my heavy AR.
