First I'll say I have nothing against FFS. I know there's a lot of debate about it but this isn't that.
The question I have for guides is how do you teach a client to crappie fish if you use the FFS? Do you teach them how to locate and catch fish, or do you just guide them verbally to where to place their bait/jig so that the fish on the scope takes it? If the latter, do you also offer guided trips where the non-FFS technique is taught, where you use 2D sonar to locate a brush pile or structure and how to use depth settings and such?
I think either way is fine, but do guides do both or would that be a specialized offering per guide's specific abilities/equipment/skillset?
Sorry if this has been asked before and I missed it.

Most of the good guides will ask you what type of fishing you want to do and they will cater the trip to what you want. Some people simply want a meat run while others want to know how to us FFS. Some want a combination of the two. If he or she is a good guide they will cater the trip to what you want.

I would think most can do whatever you wanted to do! yep, I know a guy who hired a guide and he just sat next to the guide the whole trip, watched what hi did,, he didnt touch a rod, just studied the guides operation, The key is COMMUNICATION,, do not assume anything,, explain to the guide exactly what your wanting to do and learn on the trip and make sure its just you and the guide on the trip so they can give u thier full attention and instructions. communicate your goals and expectations and tell them what you already know or dont know abt sonar. if u have a boat and electronics, many guides will get in your boat with you, and teach you on your own equiptment as most guides are proficient in all brands and types of sonar.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I always ask my clients what they are looking for and cater to them. We will be using livecope unless they specify that they do not want to.

I always ask what they want to do. It's their day, we will spend it however they want. Most of my customers just want to catch something (it is more of a tourist thing). Alot of people don't even know how to cast. I love guys that can fish or want to learn something, makes the day go by easier.
