They cannot risk the "karens" trying to cancel them on the inner-webs if they launch.
I am sure the guy dying in Florida, a few years back, has a lot to do with decisions of this type now.

That seems a little overboard, its been windy but not all that crazy for sure. I dont see why they dont just call trailering like others have mentioned. Plenty of trails do it and it works just fine.

Wasn't everyone saying the opposite a year or two ago when the guy died on Big O because of an accident in big wind??? Better safe than sorry, it is a fish... + 1 +2

A 10-20mph wind forecast cancelled the tournament today? Feel like I'm missing something,
I know about forecasts, and it usually blows harder on the water.
To me this is part of the game we play.
I'm in Jasper today and its slight breeze right now. You can blame the Nik Kayler incident.

Bad trips make good captains. And those captains know better the next time.
Went many times offshore in a 33 with trips in 2-3s and came back in 5-7 that I wanted to kiss the dock when we got back and everybody and everything got wet. You gotta be real mad at them to question your judgement on what is safe for you, forget about others perception its your azz in the wind when it turns to [censored].
Watch it happen, make it happen, or say what the hell happened. Capt. Phil Harris F/V Cornelia Marie RIP

Hmm, we want 21 foot boats to handle big water. Big water comes, we dont go. Strange. Guided there for 25 years, 10 to 20 winds were not a problem if done properly. +1

So they’ll fish Thurs Fri Sat? What’s the big deal? Probably just Thurs and Fri. Outlaw Outdoors has Umphries booked for their tournament on Saturday. .

That’s part of fishing Rayburn or anywhere in Texas…winds will blow…it’s part of the game
Most trails allow trailering, should be acceptable for all

Seems to me the worst part of being a tournament director would be making the call on weather. It really is a lose lose situation. Especially given the fact that weather forecasting is probably worse than it has ever been. If you say go there will be those that gripe it was to rough. If you say delay then you get the opposite. Given the fact that we have some idiots that almost kill themselves every single year in a bass tournament, it's hard for me to blame them when they err on the side of caution.

i would way rather have a bunch of keyboard clowns give me hell for postponing and the weather be real nice a full blown miss on the forecast than not postponing and then have to tell some wife and kids or mom and dad that there daddy or son is dead and at the bottom of the lake with people dragging for his body. i know of no one that has died from having to wait to go fishing a day or two. just my 2 cents
