3 over 13. One in appx 12-15ft at night on fork in summer. One off a bed in February in 3ft, One in January in 18ft. Point being....big fish exist at various depths depending on lots of factors and lake location. Can't really group them together. Unless sight fishing, then most are 6ft are less, the ones we can see and there's a ton of guys who've caught their biggest fish in spring just bank beating, but they caught it off a bed they just couldn't see it..

Totally a question that can and will be answered in 100 different ways. In West Texas, Ivie and others. Of my 13 DDs it's about 50/50. During the Spring all have been Shallow - Less than 8ft. During the Winter everything big has been in 20+.

It is mostly out of the water now.

12 feet for me thumb

Yep. It hasn't been good on it in years anyways. The back has produced some including for ole Sinkey in one tourney but otherwise, we only stop in there for nostalgia at this point. It's hard not to. We need to do lunch again whenever I am actually in town and have the time.

Yeah.....it sucks....stay out of there....nothing to see!

Ton of variability with these answers. Kinda as expected.
Bass are really adaptable to their environment.
For me, public lake-4ft. Private lake 5ft and 10ft. The vast majority of my biggest fish 2-6ft.
Two notable exceptions were absolutely huge fish I lost (rrrrrr) -one 12ft, one 22ft.

most of us that have PB's over 10lbs in shallow water ( shallow being 10 feet or less ) are because that's the depth of water we spend most of the time fishing .
For me personally , I am good at fishing 10 feet or less , and I totally suck when I need to fish deep . I can catch them on a D-shot in deep water really good , and I am decent on a Crig and Trig in the 10-30 foot range . Any other technique --- forget it .
Part of fishing deep requires a very stable boat ( with spot lock preferred ) and really good electronics ( preferably with forward facing sonar ) Look at Josh Jones ( sp?) --- he typically catches monsters fishing deep , using FF sonar --- and those are fish most of us never get .
