I got a box full of them somewhere

I don't think the guys who grew up throwing the 6xd's and 10xd's could handle throwing a hot lips most the day.

Definitely the most interesting bill design.

Loved those. Bill design had 2 purposes: 1. Depth; 1a. Deflect off timber with enough displacement to dodge the hooks.

Met the southern rep for Luhr Jenson while living on Livingston. He gave me 2 Hot Lips in different colors and went into detail on the bill design.

Not a lure...soft plastic

Yamamoto Big Ika (5" body, with the flare tails)

This is what I would pitch / flip with it. It was deadly as you could rig it 2 ways.

The 4" worked, but the 5" had a slower presentation and allowed for a better hook.

The original Lucky Craft RC1.5’s can be found on EBay, but the good colors will go for $50 usually.

hard time find would be a rebel P70 special run japan color or some of the natural colors are hard to get. Or the old school swayback zara spook in natural colors like small mouth!
