Whatever you do, don't take them out of their original packaging and make a bunch of 3700 boxes filled with soft plastics. I tried that with a handful of styles of plastics and it worked awesome for a while but eventually the plastics got wet and started to look weird and the containers got warped. I guess if you store your boat indoors it would be a more viable option but if your boat (and baits) get exposed to the elements while in storage, just keep doing what you're doing.

95% of my soft plastics that I take with me are in original bags and then put in gallon Ziplocs organized by style. The exceptions to this are my Speed Craws, Flukes, and Horny Toads. With those 3 I want all the tails and claws to be perfectly straight or I wont throw them so I have them in 3700 boxes and always keep the boxes flat in the center storage box. Even the "worm proof" boxes as they use to be called will warp in the sun so just dont leave the 3700's out on the deck of the boat and they should be fine. The sun will even destroy the baits inside the original bag if left on the deck of the boat to long. I have some Watermelon colored baits that the sun bleached to a very faint green color in just one summer day on the deck of the boat.

I also use the gallon bag method...this reminds me. Time to get some new ones and do some sorting out.

The big mesh lingerie bags with zippers have worked for me over the years. I probably have a dozen of them divided into different styles of baits. Take white gorilla tape and label them with a sharpie and throw em in a box. I went with the hvy duty ziploc's for years and they would either get cloudy or the the zipper would bust. To each their own, it's what works for me. Costs about $15 for a dozen of them.

Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.

We use these too and haven’t had any problems. You can get two different sizes too.

That's what I have done the last couple of years. I now have some of soft plastics I use all of the time and some that may be lake specific. I have everything organized in bins at the house and keep track of my inventory. I pretty much now rely on just a couple of basic colors and limit to about 2 packages of each in my tackle bag for practice or tournament day. I probably take way less than half with me. I figure if I go through 2 bags of a certain bait I have had an exceptional day but that doesn't happen anymore. It also cuts down on having to always be thinking what should I use and in what color and size. I now depend on just baits I have confidence in and always stay positive with my bait selections and spend time just fishing hard without spending a lot of time searching for baits and then wondering if it is the right one.
