I have a recteq pellet , smokes or long cooks it’s phenomenal but quick cooks or something that needs some heat or marks I am underwhelmed.

I am about to order and bolt on a camp chef seer box on that mofo , I feel like I am cheating on recteq but the camp chef seer box will get to 900 and get after the meat and veggies.

Try a quick sear on your gas grill…then finish with the pellet oven.

But I don’t have a bass grill

Good to read this post. Am about to buy another pellet grill and was seriously looking at recteq but if it can’t get hot and seat that’s an issue.

Recteq is a super slow cook smoke cooker very forgiving no hot spots even temp steady


But when you want to put the heat to something it takes too long to build from 250 to 500

Has two layers of barrier between crucible and grille most have just one, pit boss for instance has the grease catch and convection deflection in one piece so with flame door you can slide it open and expose meat to flame.
