Hi Y'all, I've had a thumper for a year and I love it. Lately, I've noticed that the fish tend to aggregate at the part of the boat directly under the thumper(back of the boat for me), so people fishing at the front of the boat don't do as well. I was thinking perhaps I could get another one to put in the front, and use the thumpers two at a time? Has anyone ever tried this before? Do you feel like it attracted more fish? Thank you!

I don’t think you need to do that. Just put your thumper in the center of the boat. The rods closest to the thumper May get more bites but generally all rods will get bites. If you are drifting or if the fish are coming from a specific direction those rods will also get bit more.

I have seen the same thing using the Bluetooth thumper. It's really surprising to see them hang up directly under the boat below the speaker. I moved the thumper as close to the front of the boat as I could. It helped, and seeing them on the live sonar respond to the movement of the speaker is cool.

If you are drifting or if the fish are coming from a specific direction those rods will also get bit more. I've only used my new thumper a few times, but this matches my experiences. I have it set down in the center console compartment, which is about as centrally located as it can be. Anchored, I have rods in the holders all around the boat. Every rod has been getting bit regardless of whether it's at the bow, stern, etc. With drifting, I'm only using the holders on whichever side is facing the wind, but still the same thing.

I have an aluminum center console and I generally keep it out of the center console compartment because of the rails and ledge run from center to rear and provide a solid point....
I have 2 type of thumpers and have tried 2 thumpers to see if I can increase the CRAZINESS. The issue is having them thump simultaneously.....The biggest impact is being able to change out the size of the plunging / striking device that give you more sound/vibration....4 oz vs 8 oz or bigger 12-oz., 16-oz., 24-oz. and 32-oz....this is the item probably no one changes.
I don't know if anyone uses a thumper and ever has ZERO fish.....but I have found the weight of the device PLUNGING or STRIKING the hull of the boat is what increases the crowds under the boat.....go heavier! you will see a difference.

Where it’s placed on your boat is crucial to getting fish under your boat and keeping them there. In the center underneath your console is best between the floor braces. It’s usually hollow in that area and creates the best sound vibrations. In a compartment is also a good place because most have some open space between them and the hull of the boat.

Interesting...gave me a lot to think about. Might grab a second one just to experiment...we'll see

What kind of Bluetooth thumper are you running?
