Back in June we got a brother and sister pair that were about 8 weeks old. The male is huge, the female looks small compared to her brother but, she weighs in at 50lbs. Females can go into heat at 9 months, I didn't know that. Talk about a mess trying to keep them two separated. Then throw in 10 days of even more strict separation after we had her spayed. Today was the first day she's been allowed into the back yard with him. They spent probably 2 hours of chasing each other around and play fighting. Both of them actually listen well, but they have to be fed apart or the male will eat 95% of what's in the bowls while she barely gets in for the 5%. They don't fight over food he just blocks her from the bowls. Both have learned "in" and "out". Will sit and wait for the gate or door to be opened and biggest plus is they will bark if something or someone comes around. She is still teething, so give them something you don't want destroyed to chew on.

On of the best things you can have them learn is to heel. Otherwise taking a walking is a pulling contest. We usually do about 2 1/2 miles a day, depending on weather, and they get tired enough where their foolishness is tempered when the walk is over.

Leave it it a very useful command for German Shepherds. Can be used for a lot of things. Even when pestering people.

I forgot to mention, the name you give your dog determines how it will respond to you. It has to be a single syllable word that sounds tough like Spike or Thor. Dogs won’t respond to you if you call them by a dumb name they can’t spell.

Don't waste money on a dog bed. It will get destroyed. Ours was out of the chew on everything phase by about 9 months. Redirect them. Give them other appropriate stuff to chew on. Once they get old enough. Beef marrow bones are your friend.

I'm not a fan of ropes to chew on. The dog will drop rainbow swirled turds.
