I drift for cats frequently but pretty much drag the bottom with santee cooper and carolina rigs. Any tips on how to drift mid column? Can you drift weighted slip bobbers?

Goose, If you use planer boards, you can use them like a bobber. Set the planer on your line at the depth you want to fish and viola! You're there... Use enough weight to keep the bait straight under the board and as long as you don't drift too fast it should stay there. Might want to lose the float and change from a Santee rig to a plain Carolina rig.

Thanks. I was looking at making some boards from old license plates to get better spread. I’ll move that project up.
