On the water around 12:30 and fished until dark.. fish bit all day on swiwmbaits, spinnerbaits, jiggs, and crank baits in water temps from 47 to 67.. Stayed shallow in the pad stems and grass for most of the afternoon…Landed 21 to nearly 20 inches..

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Got a few to bite the chatter bait today. I only caught 5 or 6 fish, but the big one made it all worthwhile. Water was 59degF.

Back at Martin Creek Saturday and Sunday.. didn’t want to get skunked on the last day of the year or the first day of the new year.. roflmao

Saturday caught 8 to nearly 20 inches. much slower than the previous two times I’ve been there.. had over 2 inches of rain at my house on Friday and the cold water coming down the creek was definitely starting to effect the fishing and water clarity of the shallows where I had been fishing. Busted off a good one on finesse spinner bait and went back to same area later in day and caught three more on same spot throwing a jig in 5 feet of much clearer water.

Last sunset of 2022

Sunday fishing was beating for me. bang Went back shallow to see if the water had warmed up or cleared up.. it had a little but the fish and bait were gone.. explored up the creek as far as I could go just to see what was back there..

Fished my way back to ramp.. caught 4 where water was much clearer, where water temps were in low 60s on spinner bait slow rolled in 5 feet of water. Heard the guys crappie fishing did well. Oh, the plant had only one stack running off and on the whole day
