Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New year.

Thursdays are tournament days. But fortunately for us we take off Thanksgiving and the Thursday before Christmas. And today is forecasted to be really bad.

Next Thursday after fishing we will be having our annual get together and awards. Yes, that will be outdoors too. Here's hoping it will be somewhat warmer than today.

I will give him a hard time on your behalf. Randy has been doing a real good job for our club since he took over from Bob Roberts. Bob died from a heart attack around June.

However, I am retiring from freshwater bass fishing. My boat was salvaged in March and fishing as a co-angler is cool but tough getting in and out of boats with all of those 15" screens on the front deck. They were treating me like I am an old man. Which unfortunately is true since I just turned 80 this month.

The club has a real good set of officers, and it is time for the old guy to step aside and let the new ideas roam. I have also stepped down from my duties with the Sportsmans association and will not be running the live release boat starting 2023.

Am I quitting fishing? Something that I have been doing for 70 years. No. I have hopes of going back to my roots and do saltwater fishing. Namely surf fishing. But we presently don't have a four-wheel drive vehicle and the shore is a 5-hour drive from our home at Lake Fork. New challenges to overcome.
