Hey, What is your go too all time opinion on deep water worm colors? I have a few molds , a 9" and a 13" curly tail worm that i want to start making some summer time baits up.
What say you

I normally don't use googan stuff, but their lizards come in a color called sprayed lettuce, and it flat catches them that time of year for sure. Two other favorites of mine are plum and California 420.

WM red and GP will catch them just about anyplace and any depth. I've caught Spotted bass on WM red flake in 104' of water on Table Rock but they were suspended 45' down. GP will cath them in water with 6" viz.

In clear water I stay with the lighter green shades. In stained to muddy water I go with the darker purples.

Once you go BLACK, you never go back! HA... this is true... OP; first thing you must understand is the deeper you go in the water column all colors turn to black, because its light that "reflects" the color - right, the deeper you go less light... so your asking for a deep water color = black !

Why doesn't the Scuba members ever jump in on these threads?
Deepest I've been was in lake Travis. 44'. You can most definitely see colors. With brighter colors standing out. Compare the look of black fins to neon colors. Mask frame colors, tank paint color. Wetsuit....
You gotta be really deep for things to go black.

Color depth penetration is dependent on water clarity. Hit our muddy lakes up here and at 44 feet (if you can go that deep, you might not see your hand in front of your face...

Ask a diver about snapping his fingers underwater and the fish that'll come up like calling a dog. Low visibility, its sound that gets their attention. Then color.
Fish are stupid. No matter what anyone says. You need to dumb down the situation so they can understand it.

Them divers have to be careful so that the big catfish at the dam doesn't eat them.

That's day one of the class. Every dam, has a giant catfish.
Legend has it. You take an entire chicken, gigantic hook. Throw it overboard and wait.
